ABILITIES

Soul Punch
A blow so powerful, it turns the enemy's very soul into a deadly projectile, damaging all in its path. Enemies that survive the blow are Marked for Harvest and become one of Nekros's Shadows of the Dead if killed while marked.
Terrify
Cast fear into the hearts of nearby enemies, causing them to run away in terror and stripping their armor.
Desecrate
Forces fallen enemies around you to drop additional loot. Costs 10 energy per corpse.
Shadows Of The Dead
Summon shadow versions of vanquished enemies to fight alongside you for a short period.
CEPHALON FIELD GUIDE
How to play this build.
Tenno. Shield of Shadows redirects 90% of your damage to your shadow army at max shadows and 214% Strength. Stack that with Health Conversion armour, Arcane Guardian, Arcane Blessing and Adaptation and you reach around a million effective HP. Desecrate plus Despoil plus Equilibrium keeps health and energy flowing. This is a solo, sub-endurance tank, largely outclassed by shield gating.
How it works
Shield of Shadows needs 214% Strength for 90% DR at max shadows.
That plus 88% from ~2250 armour (Health Conversion plus Arcane Guardian) is 98.8%, and Adaptation pushes it to 99.89%, for up to ~1.36 million EHP with max Arcane Blessing.
Despoil drops your health and Desecrate generates the orbs, so Health Conversion and Equilibrium stay fed.
Playstyle
1.
Turn on Desecrate (3).
2.
Kill enemies for shadows and orbs.
3.
Activate Shadows of the Dead (4).
4.
Use Soul Punch (1) on heavies below 25% health for instant kills and strong shadows, or to mark tougher units.
The mods
Blind Rage plus Power Drift clears the 214% Strength breakpoint.
Health Conversion is the armour source.
Adaptation is the DR layer.
Primed Continuity holds Duration to cut shadow decay.
Primed Flow, Equilibrium are the energy-and-health engine with Despoil.
Summoner's Wrath aura boosts the shadows.
Flexible slots
Adaptation and Stretch are the flex zone: Natural Talent (without cast-speed shards), Vitality (without Arcane Blessing) or Primed Continuity.
Helminth
Pick one.
Subsume over Soul Punch (1).
- Blood Altar to heal Nekros and the shadows constantly.
- Nourish for shadow damage, viral and energy.
- Roar for general DPS.
Gloom for slow and self-heal (does not heal shadows).
Arcanes
Arcane Blessing for the health, Arcane Guardian for the armour.
Focus
Any.
Madurai for Strength.
Weapon synergy
None from the frame.
Bring whatever kills.
Staying alive
The DR stack, healed by Despoil and Desecrate orbs.
It fails past about level 500 where a hit exceeds even a million EHP, and to toxin (bypasses armour).
Shadows can confuse allies in public (use a bright energy colour).
Energy
Despoil plus Desecrate plus Equilibrium.
A flood.
Where it struggles
Level-500 ceiling.
Shield gating does the same job with less investment.
The frame does no damage.
Bosses.
Variants
The The Grave Tithe build is the active shield-gate looting Nekros.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strong: enormous EHP for solo mid-content, a shadow army, simple.
Weak: hard ceiling, outclassed by gating, no self damage, boss- blind.
Who runs this
Solo players who want a nostalgic set-and-forget tank for regular Steel Path.
