ABILITIES
Nidus PrimePASSIVE If Nidus is killed with at least 15 stacks of Mutation, those stacks are consumed; this grants 5s of invulnerability and restores Health to 50%. Mutation stacks cap at 200.
Virulence
Rupture the ground with a damaging fungal growth that steals energy from each enemy it strikes. For every five enemies hit, the Infestation mutates, multiplying its destructive force.
Larva
Spawn an Infested pod that erupts with tendrils, latches onto nearby enemies and pulls them in. Recasting removes the previous Larva. Enemies killed while held can generate Mutation stacks; chance scales with Ability Strength up to 100%.
Parasitic Link
Bind to a target with parasitic link. When cast on an ally or Companion, both receive Ability Strength and weapon damage bonuses. Linked enemies redirect damage to themselves. Recast to retarget or refresh duration.
Ravenous
Expend 3 Mutation stacks to spawn gluttonous maggots and an infestation zone. Allies inside regenerate health and are cleansed of status effects. Recasting on the zone refreshes duration and detonates maggots.
CEPHALON FIELD GUIDE
How to play this build.
Tenno. This is Nidus built to carry a gun. Teeming Virulence turns Mutation stacks into flat primary crit chance, Roar subsumed over Ravenous buffs weapon damage and double-dips DoTs, and Parasitic Vitality plus Arcane Persistence makes you effectively immortal to level cap. Ball a crowd, stab it for stacks, and shoot.
How it works
Parasitic Vitality at 200 stacks reaches ~20k health, which with Arcane Persistence's 500/s cap (above 700 armour, hit with one Tauforged shard) is ~40s of standing still.
Even without Persistence, 200 stacks is ~65s of immortality from the passive alone (five 5s death-gates).
Teeming Virulence's flat crit chance plus Roar's damage buff is the gun platform.
Note linking a companion does not grant status or knockdown immunity.
Playstyle
1.
Larva (2) to group, Virulence (1) to stab for stacks and energy.
2.
Link (3) to a companion for the multiplicative damage buff.
3.
Keep Roar (subsumed over 4) up.
4.
Shoot.
Refresh stacks with Virulence every 10 to 15s.
Duration, Efficiency, Range, Strength
Duration for Link and Roar.
Minimum Efficiency because Virulence refunds energy.
Range for Larva.
Strength for the crit chance, the health pool and Roar.
The mods
Blind Rage, Umbral Intensify are the Strength.
Stretch is Larva Range.
Primed Continuity, Constitution hold Duration.
Primed Flow is the pool.
Teeming Virulence is the crit buff, Parasitic Vitality the health.
Corrosive Projection is a straight damage lift.
Flexible slots
The augments are the flex zone as in The Feeding Frenzy.
Arcane swaps by weapon type (Strike for melee, Precision or Velocity for pistol, Rage or Acceleration for rifle).
Helminth
Roar over Ravenous, double-dipping toxin status and buffing the weapon.
Arcanes
Arcane Persistence for the damage cap, Arcane Bellicose for 72% Strength toward the crit buff.
Weapon arcanes as swaps.
Focus
Any.
Madurai for Strength.
Weapon synergy
Primaries that want flat crit and do not lean on Galvanized Aptitude (Parasitic Link ignores Condition Overload): Coda Hema (headshot lifesteal, multiplicative Galvanized Aptitude), plus lifesteal weapons for healing outside Larva (Furis Incarnon with Winds of Purity, Coda Hirudo, Sancti Magistar).
Staying alive
The Parasitic Vitality pool plus Arcane Persistence plus the passive death-gates.
It fails to Violence, nullifiers, and magnetic, heat or corrosive stripping armour; and if you let stacks decay.
Energy
Virulence into a five-plus Larva refills you.
Where it struggles
Density-dependent for stacks.
Boss single-target is on the weapon.
Linking a companion does not give status immunity.
Variants
The The Feeding Frenzy build is the general-use bruiser.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strong: a large flat primary crit buff plus Roar, near-immortal, strong grouping.
Weak: weapon-carried, density-dependent, forma- hungry.
Who runs this
Players who want a near-unkillable frame that makes their primary weapon crit and hit harder.
